MAT6760   Nanomaterials   (15 credits)

Description

This module will give students an overview over concepts in the basic understanding and applications of selected types of nanomaterials, complementing sister modules MAT6720, BMS6730 and MAT6390: After a general introduction into the science of nanoparticles the module continues to introduce nanocomposite materials in detail, also including graphene and graphene-composites. Furthermore, nanocrystalline materials will be presented in detail, mainly for metals, but also including ceramics. Finally an introduction to thin films and deposition techniques will be given.
